Michael Vaughan wants MS Dhoni to play his final IPL tournament with big crowd, as Mahi deserves a grand farewell.
Amidst many 2020 bad news, former Indian Cricket team Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket and this announcement broke hearts of his fans which are situated all over the world. Due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic the Dream 11 Indian Premier League 2020 was conducted in UAE with no spectators allowed in the stadium. This situation happened for the first time in the IPL history.
Dhoni, who plays IPL as the skipper of 3 times champion Chennai Super Kings confirmed that he will continue to lead CSK in IPL 2021 too. However, there are rumors that the next season of IPL might be conducted in UAE again. Therefore, Michael Vaughan, England’s former captain wants Dhoni to play his ultimate IPL tournament in an stadium filled with huge crowd, as the legend deserves a grand exit from cricket.
In an interview, Vaughan asserted, “If the IPL takes place in the UAE next year again, which there are whispers it will happen, MS Dhoni will have to play another year. He cannot finish his IPL career in front of no crowd. ”
“He has to play at least one game the following year. He cannot go out in front of no crowds. If there is one player who deserves a big crowd to say goodbye to , if he probably cannot play, he would just disappear and say goodbye without us knowing about it – like he did in international cricket, ” he further said.
He concluded by making an appeal, ” But I want to see a grand crowd for his last game.”
