Kapil Dev got Discharged from the Hospital
On Sunday our first World Cup winning caption Kapil Dev got discharged from hospital, after undergoing two days of angioplasty to avoid heart attack. On Thursday he went under minor chest pain and he was immediately taken to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute’s emergency department. He is feeling much better after the surgery. The hospital staff said in a statement: “Mr. Kapil Dev got discharged today afternoon. He’s doing fine and can resume his regular daily activity soon. He’ll be under regular follow-up consultation with Dr. Atul Mathur.” A coronary angioplasty is a procedure used to widen blocked or narrowed coronary artery. The term “angioplasty” means using a balloon to stretch open a narrowed or blocked artery.
Kapil’s condition was getting a bit critical and his emergency coronary angioplasty was operated by Dr. Mathur, who is the director of cardiology department in the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute.
Speedy recovery was wished by many fans on social media, which includes Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar among others. Kapil Dev is one of the best cricketers and had played over 131 test matches and 225 ODI’s. He is the only player to have a record of over 400 wickets and has over 5000 test runs. He also served as national coach between 1999 and 2000.
