Young players will be blooded for the remaining three matches, says CSK skipper MS Dhoni .
On Friday, Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni accepted that his team failed to showcase their best performance as the former winners suffered an embarrassing 10 wicket loss by Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
After the defeat in their recent match, CSK lost all their chances of securing a place in the playoffs. They have scored a total of just six points from 11 matches so far. From a long time they have been placed in the bottom spot of the IPL points table.
Dhoni said, ” What you need to see is what are the things that are going wrong, especially this year; it hasn’t been our year. Whether you lose by 8 or 10 wickets, it hardly matters, but where we are at this stage of the tournament it does hurt.”
In the post match ceremony the CSK captain said, ” What you need to see is where we actually went wrong, right from the second game.”
Disappointed Mahi said this time even luck didn’t favour Chennai Super Kings.
“The games we wanted to bat first, we haven’t won the toss and there’s no dew; and all of a sudden when we bat first, there’s dew, ” he added.
Naming the batting failures as a part and parcel of the game, he sadly conveyed that there have been lot of issues from their side .
“You can’t always think the result will go your way. Even when you’re hurting, you try to smile and take it on the chin. I feel the boys have done that, they’ve tried to perform. I think it’s important for us to have a clear picture of next year. There are lots of ifs and buts – auction, where the venues will be, “he further added.
Lastly, Dhoni asserted that in the remaining three matches the youngsters will get an ideal opportunity to perform their best.
