Internships at Flipkart: E-commerce firm to help students gain supply chain skills with this programme
Walmart-owned Flipkart is looking forward to building thousands of direct job opportunities. It will be possible through its Big Billion Days sale event. It is going to take place during this festive season. Now, the company is rolling on to offer internships to undergraduate students from Tier-II cities and beyond. On October 10, Saturday, Flipkart announced that under its ‘Launchpad’ internship programme, the students will get an opportunity to work in its supply chain ahead of the festive season and in the Big Billion Days.
The internship is going to be a 45-day paid internship which will help students to “gain critical skills in the supply chain management. This will also create an ecosystem of trained professionals for the e-commerce industry,” Flipkart said in its statement. This programme was launched in the previous year and observed the participation of over 2,000 students from all across India for learning the supply chain management during The Big Billion Days.
This programme is intending to help students understand how the supply chain processes and how it forms the backbone of e-commerce. Flipkart further said that this programme is designed for shaping “India’s future workforce in different necessary supply chain roles.”
Flipkart is working with some educational institutes in 21 locations based in Binola (Haryana), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra), Uluberia and Dankuni (West Bengal) and Malur (Karnataka), Medchal (Telangana) etc. for the sole aim of identifying meritorious and active students and engage them at its fulfillment centres.
