PM Modi says new agriculture bill will raise farmers’ income, productivity; help them get rid of brokers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that the new agricultural bill that has been passed by the Lok Sabha has brought some ease to the farmers of our country. Now, the government will provide them several options to sell their products than earlier. This will make more profit to the Indian farmers, Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Modi further said that the recent amendments made in the law are historic. This will ease the restrictions that were put on the farmers to the present. Now, the farmers would be able to sell whatever they want, to whomever they want. There won’t be any broker in between. This way, farmers can earn more profit. He further assured all the farmers that the government will give Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the crops like earlier.
Two bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha on 14 September 2020 by the Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Narendra Singh Tomar.
